These hand held soft weights from Fitness Mad are ideal for strengthening, Plyometric, balance training and mobilisation fitness sessions. The soft weight spheres come as a two pack and measure 12cm. Having soft weights to use as part of your home fitness routine is one of the best purchases you can make. They are so adaptable and make a real difference to a Pilates workout.

The soft weight design is safer and reduces the risk of injury if dropped. The design gives greater flexibility than regular dumbbells and helps to promote the development of your functional grip strength. These weights are sometimes referred to as Toning Balls but they are the same product.

Available in three weight sizes to suit all however, the actual size of the ball remains the same giving you a consistent grip as you progress through the weights. Available in either 2 x 0.5kg (£10.99) , 2 x 1kg (£11.49) or 2 x 1.5kg (£11.99) weights.

Some exercise you could adapt to use the toning balls or soft weights in are as follows

Horizontal Shoulder Exercise - With one ball, arms out stretched in front of you. Swing both arms back to centre, so you have one straight line from hand to hand. Bring back to the starting position and swap the ball to the other hand. To increase difficulty you could add 2 balls or increase the weight of the balls in hand. If you sit on a gym ball it also helps improve your core whilst doing this exercise.

If fact almost any exercise you are currently doing can be made more challenging by introducing the soft weighted toning balls.

Over time, if the core of the soft weight feels too hard then inflate the ball with a small amount of air to allow the filling to move around and become more flexible again.
