Steeden was first established in the state of Queensland, Australia by Ray Steeden back in 1958. The produced leather footballs, cricket balls and a range of boxing equipment. In the late 1960's they moved home to New South Wales, before being acquired by Grays International in 1995.
Since then the Steeden brand has grown and is now the biggest ball supplier to Rugby league, not only in the UK but throughout the world. Steeden is the official ball of various governing bodies across the globe including England Rugby League, Wales Rugby League, and the Rugby league World Cup 2013. Steeden is no longer distributed by Grays International and is now distributed indpendently within Europe.
