Every year, i say, we are going to have the best Summer of sport. Not just for British success but, to witness top class sportsmen and women competing at the highest level, is exciting. Is this year the best, given we had the glorious Football World Cup from South Africa. Could it be 2012 when the Olympics come to London plus we will also have the European Championships to watch during the Summer.

Clearly 2012 is going to be a special year but, every Summer is filled with great Sport. This year we have witnessed Wimbledon, The football World Cup, Cricket series v Bangladesh and Pakistan, we also have the bonus of Australia touring these shores, The Open Golf Championship, Royal Ascot and still look forward to the Ryder Cup and Commonwealth Games.

Next year could be good too, with the usual mouth watering fare on offer and the World Athletics Championship from South Korea, the Rugby World Cup from New Zealand and two more touring Cricket sides, Sri Lanka and India, here to play England.

I love Summer and Sport but it ends so quick, at least when this Summer is over we have next year to drool over.
