Should the Ryder Cup be held in Europe, in October?

It is easy in hindsight, to suggest the Ryder Cup being held in Europe, in October, is a huge mistake. Afterall the reason Wales is so green, is not becuase its had too much sun. The problem with the weather in the UK, is at this time of year, it is generally damp and we have had a extraordinary amount of rain recently. The Celtic Manor course was designed with the best drainage available, yet still it cannot cope with the amount of rain dropped on it in the past 24 hours. The owner of the course said this morning he hoped it would hold up well, claiming the designer had thought of three things when building the course, drainage, drainage and drainage. If he forget anything he added more drainage, just in case.

It is a real shame for the Welsh, as 10 years in planning, could be let down badly by the weather.

The option to hold The Ryder Cup in September, when held in Europe, would seem to be a sensible one to take in future. Would this be a foolproof option though? No, how many bad rain storms have we had, in recent years, during July and August. Maybe the best thing would be to hold it in September when held in the UK. This would then, hopefully, give the organisers, a better chance of weather, suitable for Golf.

What do you think, should The Ryder Cup organisers change the month its held when in Europe?
