10 Predictions for 2015

10 Predictions for 2015

, 3 min reading time

In our offices at Sportsballshop, we have a number of people who think they are wise and see all. In the past few years we have challenged them to make their 10 sporting predictions for the following year. True, some do know as much as they say but the predictions made, tended to be 50/50 choices. This year we have decided to narrow the field down and have selected 10 events from 2015 and we welcome you to offer your predictions. We have 8 sporting and 2 general predictions. For the tie break, we ask you to pick the winner of BBC Sports Personality 2015. Free to enter.

This year we have decided to narrow the field down and have selected 10 events from 2015 and we welcome you to offer your predictions. We have 8 sporting and 2 general predictions. For the tie break, we ask you to pick the winner of BBC Sports Personality 2015. All you need to do is to select the winner of each event and the distance if required.
  1. 2015 William Hill World Darts Championship - I predict world number 3 Adrian Lewis to come out on top
  2. 2015 FA Cup Winners - A few options here but fancy Manchester United to win having missed out on the league title
  3. 2015 University Boat Race - Only 2 teams in this one so we also ask for the winning distance, I go for Oxford Uni with a winning distance of 3 lengths.
  4. 2015 Rugby World Cup - Held in England and Wales but i cannot see past New Zealand and expect them to retain the Webb Ellis trophy
  5. 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup - The 50 over format was last won by India but as this is held in Australia and New Zealand it will be hard to beat one of the home countries. Couple in the Phil Hughes effect and Australia must be strong favourites
  6. 2015 F1 Championship - Lewis Hamilton was victorious in 2014 and will be difficult to beat but i expect Nico Rosberg to be given the leading role for Mercedes and will beat Hamilton in 2015
  7. 2015 Barclays Premier League - Already nearly 1/2 way you can rule out a few. Chelsea are the favourites but both Manchester sides look to be in the mix and Arsenal will surely make the top 4 once again. My winner though is Chelsea as Mourinho regains the title he last won in 2005/06
  8. 2015 UEFA Champions League - Down to the last 16 and out of the group stages, we can now make a more confident prediction. I fully expect the winner to come from Barcelona, Chelsea or Real Madrid. We do not know who will draw who in future rounds but Real Madrid are a class act and will be hard to beat.
  9. 2015 General Election - Winning party and how many seats the gain The next election will be held in 2015 and i fully expect another tenure for David Cameron but once again with a hung parliament. To gain over all power, the winning party needs a minimum of 326 seats. The Conservatives won 306 in 2010 and i predict they will have a small increase to 310 and retain the keys to number 10. Conservatives - 310 seats
  10. Finally Predict the highs and lows of the FTSE 100 share index - With the economy on a knife edge, the stock market could be quite volatile in 2015, with big swings in the FTSE 100 share index. As i write it stands at 6219. I predict a low of 5865 and a high of 7232 for 2015
Tie break question was to name the winner of the 2015 BBC Sports Personality of the Year - Rory Mcilroy Add your predictions and we will check back later in the year to see how we are all doing.
